| Nice 22 inch brown trout caught on the Big Horn River. Hopefully, the Spokane River will drop back into shape soon, as clarity is improving but the volumes are still high. Expect we are about a month behind in the regular flow rates. |
This is not so much a fishing summary but rather an update on Swedes Fly Shop during the local road construction. Ash St. is now totally open and complete. A very nice road to travel now that the paving is done. Maple is still under construction but we can be reached from the major side roads going north. Sorry for the inconvenience. We are open during our regular hours M-F 9 to 6 and Sat 10 to 4. Call for holiday hours.

Swedes now has umbrella hook blue wing olives available for your fly box.
These fantastic patterns tied on a special high carbon hook is one of the strongest hooks in the industry.
The BWO was fished on the Yakima this season and proved to be one of the best patterns we have ever fished on the river.
Its low silouhette, keel style hook and natural movement on the water surface make them irrestible to trout.
Call the shop to have them sent directly to you.

It has been requested that Swede’s Fly Shop open their doors once a month to fly fishers who want to just get together and do what comes natural, that is, sit around tie flies or just talk about fly fishing in general over a cup of coffee and cookies. July 12, we will have our doors open at 10:00am for those who want to meet and just talk fishing, tying, catching, products, styles, politics, or whatever. We’ll try and meet on the second Saturday of each month and the coffee will be ready along with whatnots. A whatnot is something edible that goes with the whatever.
So if this sounds like something you might be interested in, please find time to join us and stop by. There’ll be fishing reports, flies to discuss, styles to compare with and tape measure calibrations. Judging from the fishing reports it seems appropriate. Sound like fun? Ya sur ya’betcha!
