Travel

This little 4-day getaway is pure Swedish west-coast happiness, city one minute, salty islands the next, and a proper theme park thrown in because why not. $1,200 and you’re laughing.

Day 1 – Arrival day. We pick you up at the airport or station, ten minutes later you’re checking into a cool hotel right by the Göta Älv river, big windows, boats passing below. Quick stroll through old Haga with its wooden houses and massive cinnamon buns (you’ll need one, they’re famous). First seafood taste, fresh shrimp and dill mayo on rye bread at a tiny place locals love. Evening free, maybe grab fish & chips by the harbor or just sit with a cold beer watching ferries come and go.

Day 2 – Full archipelago day, the best part. We hop on a classic wooden boat from the city center, no rush, just cruising out through thousands of pink granite islands. Captain stops whenever seals pop up or someone spots an eagle. Midday we dock at a tiny fishing village, eat lobster and new potatoes straight off the boat, bread, aioli, the works, all included. Swim if you’re brave (water is cold but clean as glass). Back around 5 pm, sun still high in summer. Night off, most people head to the riverside bars, super chill vibe.

Day 3 – Liseberg day! Sweden’s biggest amusement park, right in the middle of the city. Your wristband gets you on everything, the wooden rollercoaster Balder is insane, drops like nothing else. There’s also a cute old carousel, concerts in the evening, candy floss everywhere. We give you the whole day, come and go as you like, tram stop is outside the hotel. Some folks spend 10 hours there, others do morning rides then chill in the park gardens. Dinner inside the park is surprisingly good, try the smoked salmon burger.

Day 4 – Easy morning. Sleep in, big hotel breakfast with ten kinds of herring and fresh bread. Maybe wander the botanical gardens or the fish market (called Feskekôrka, looks like a church). We get you back to airport or station around noon, perfect for afternoon flights.

It’s short but feels like a proper holiday, sea air one day, adrenaline the next, and Gothenburg is just friendly as hell. Couples, families, solo travelers, everyone fits. We run it every week in summer, even if only four people book. Ready for some island magic and rollercoaster screams? Let me know dates!
