Six days, $2,500, and you get the full Iceland crazy-beautiful package, black sand, ice caps, steaming ground, the lot. We keep it small and active, no big coach crowds.
Day 1 – You land in Keflavik, we scoop you up, 45 min drive and you’re already in Reykjavik. Drop bags at a funky little hotel in the 101 district, quick nap if jet-lagged, then we do an easy walking food tour, Icelandic hotdogs, lamb soup, rye bread ice cream, weird but good. Evening free, most people hit the rooftop bars while the sun literally refuses to set.
Day 2 – Golden Circle but better. Super-jeep instead of bus, so we go off-road to spots normal tours skip. Geysir explodes right on cue, Gullfoss roars, Þingvellir where continents pull apart (you walk between tectonic plates, cool huh). Late afternoon we drive south, stop at Secret Lagoon for first hot soak, way less crowded than Blue Lagoon. Night in a simple riverside cabin, basic but clean.
Day 3 – The big glacier day. We gear up, crampons on, short drive to Sólheimajökull glacier tongue. Four hours walking on ice, blue crevasses, ice caves if safe, guide knows every crack. Feels like another planet. After we hike to a black-sand beach with diamond ice chunks everywhere, waves crash, steam from volcanoes in the distance. Night two in same cabin area, dinner is lamb stew and skyr for dessert.
Day 4 – Volcano time. We head to the new lava fields (whichever eruption is still warm, 2024 or 2025 one), walk right up to glowing cracks if possible, or at least the fresh black rivers of rock. Then big hike in Þórsmörk valley, green mountains surrounded by glaciers, rivers everywhere, feels like Lord of the Rings. Moderate 5-6 hours walking, but the views make you forget tired legs. Last night in mountain hut, bunks and snoring included free of charge.
Day 5 – Back to civilization, but first we stop at Reynisfjara black beach, basalt columns, sneaker waves (guide keeps you safe). Then Seljalandsfoss waterfall you walk behind, get a bit wet. Afternoon free in Reykjavik, shop for wool sweaters or just chill by the harbor. Final group dinner, fresh arctic char and all the stories.
Day 6 – Easy morning, sleep in a real bed again. We save the Blue Lagoon for the way to the airport, perfect timing, soak, silica masks, then 10-minute shuttle to departures. Most flights leave afternoon or evening, no rush.
People finish this trip totally speechless, Iceland just hits different. You hike on glaciers, touch brand-new lava, swim in rivers fed by ice caps, all in one week. Small group, real adventure, zero boring moments. Spots disappear fast for July, so ping me if you’re tempted!
